Noord-Kaap of Kimberley ended their season on Saturday winning the final of the Kovsie Central Region by beating Diamantveld 27-20, their third successive victory in this competition.

Noord Kaap had to come from behind in the contest and at one stage Diamntveld lead 13-3 just before the interval. However, Noord Kaap absorbed the pressure and got the all important score through Zane le Roux on the hooter to trail by three points at the break (13-10).

The second half saw Diamantveld throw everything they could at the Noord Kaapenaars, but they managed to keep their composure and it was fitting that their hard working captain,Jaco Buys, should score the all important try that handed Noord Kaap the victory. Credit to Diamantveld, who a few weeks ago were soundly beaten by the same opposition (44-7) and played their part in an exciting final. However, Noord Kaap is a classy side and the win caps off an extra ordinary season for them as it meant that they remained unbeaten in 2011.
